Film business drives performance on a strong slate of distribution hits.
Operating profit reaches record high for third consecutive year.

FY2/26 was a critically important year, marking the start of our TOHO Mid‑Term Plan 2028 aimed at realizing our long‑term vision, TOHO VISION 2032. In this year of new challenges, the TOHO Group advanced steadily across each of its businesses, achieving an outstanding result: record‑high operating profit for the third consecutive year.

In the Film business, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle became a mega‑hit, while KOKUHO set a new box‑office record among Japanese live‑action films. In addition, Detective Conan: One‑eyed Flashback and Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc each surpassed ¥10 billion in box‑office revenue, contributing to strong overall performance. TOHO‑TOWA distributed titles such as Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning and Jurassic World: Rebirth also delivered strong box‑office performances, contributing significantly to overall results. In addition, titles distributed by other companies, including Zootopia 2 and A Minecraft Movie, also saw strong box‑office performance. As a result, domestic box‑office revenue from TOHO Group distributed titles set a new all‑time annual record, driving strong performance in both the Production and Distribution business and the Movie Theater business.

In the IP and Anime business, revenue from streaming, merchandising sales, and other allocations related to Godzilla and TOHO animation titles such as My Hero Academia, JUJUTSU KAISEN, and SPY x FAMILY continued to contribute to results.

In the Theatrical business, even during the temporary closure of the Imperial Theatre, we worked to maintain the number of productions presented by the Group by utilizing Theatre Creation and external venues. The musical Knights’ Tale ARENA LIVE was a great success, while other high‑profile productions, including the musical Elisabeth and the Shanghai and Seoul performances of Spirited Away, were also well received.

In the Real Estate business, revenue increased as the Group’s properties across Japan continued to perform steadily.

As a result, in FY2/26, the TOHO Group surpassed the record highs achieved in the previous fiscal year, with operating revenue of ¥360.63 billion, up 15.2% year on year; operating profit of ¥67.89 billion, up 5.0%; ordinary profit of ¥70.14 billion, up 8.8%; and profit attributable to owners of parent of ¥51.76 billion, up 19.4%.

In the second year of TOHO Mid‑Term Plan 2028, the TOHO Group will place its highest priority on the much‑anticipated new Godzilla film directed by Takashi Yamazaki, Godzilla Minus Zero. The film is scheduled for release in Japan and the United States at approximately the same time, with GKIDS, which joined the Group in 2024, handling North American distribution. Through this and other initiatives, we will accelerate our global expansion by maximizing Group synergies. We also have a strong lineup of both live‑action and animated titles, including TOHO‑led titles such as You, Like a Star and The Apothecary Diaries Theatrical Film. TOHO animation will also introduce promising new series such as SNOWBALL EARTH and Though I Am an Inept Villainess, while a number of sequels to popular anime series are also planned.

For the full fiscal year, we forecast operating revenue of ¥345.0 billion, operating profit of ¥62.0 billion, ordinary profit of ¥67.0 billion, and profit attributable to owners of parent of ¥41.0 billion. Although these figures are below the results for the previous fiscal year, they represent a record high for an initial full‑year forecast.

Guided by our Group slogan, "Moments for Life," and our Group Purpose, "Creating moments to move hearts and enrich lives," the TOHO Group will work as one to achieve further growth and enhance corporate value.

We sincerely thank our shareholders for their continued support and look forward to your ongoing support in the years ahead.

May 2026
